Happy last Friday of January! We made it through this long, cold month and on our way towards spring! What went well for you this week? I hope you were able to be productive at work, eat some great food, and maybe even enjoy some of this sunshine and warmer temps too. What’s going on this weekend? I’ll mainly be cheering on Tom as he competes in a local CrossFit competition on Saturday and Sunday. But I hope I can get some sister time in too. 🙂 Here are a few things that were noteworthy for me this week:

I started reading a new-to-me blog this week and I love it. I was reading some older posts by Jess and this one resonated. I wanted to share it with you this Friday. Because I know each and every one of us can relate. Take Yourself Out of the Running. Enjoy!

This garlic butter white wine shrimp linguine. Make this recipe, put on your favorite TV show or movie, share it with good company, and call it a perfect night. This recipe is so flavorful and one of the best comfort meals ever.

Have you been reading the New York Times column, Modern Love? I discovered this last Thursday when it was featured in the SoulPancake weekly newsletter. These are reader-submitted essays on love, in all its different forms. It has sparked a lot of interesting conversations in my life. Some stories are sweet, tragic, and haunting. But all are captivating. It’s a testament to just how unique love and relationships can be.

What if all I want is a mediocre life? A read that will make you think and question. I feel like I’m always striving for more, for better. I’m not quite making it work financially in my current job and wonder every day if I have backed myself into a corner with the path I have chosen, knowing that I can change directions but have no idea what that looks like. I hope that one day I can just accept and be happy with where I am.

Have you read any of Shauna Niequist’s books? I read Bittersweet and Cold Tangerines and loved her perspective on life. She is a breath of fresh air and I’m looking forward to reading her newest, Savor: Living Abundantly Where You Are, As You Are. What are you reading lately?

Enjoy your Friday and I hope you have a very happy weekend!
