Friday things

Good morning and happy Friday! Yep, it’s August. I know that I sound like a broken record when I say “How did we get here?” but this summer has cruised! The past two weeks have been very full and I’m looking forward to next week when it seems as though things slow down a bit. When my schedule gets busier and I feel like I’m running all over the place, it helps me to go to yoga or go for a walk around the pond. I took this photo while on an evening walk and I’m always amazed at how calm I feel afterwards. Tom is home this weekend after two weeks of military training and we are headed to the CrossFit Games on Saturday! Since Saturday will be crazy and high energy and full of crowds, Sunday will be reserved for lots of quiet, reading, and rest. What’s on your agenda? Here are a few things I wanted to share before you head into your lovely August weekend 🙂

This sermon series was a game-changer for me this week. I will listen to this series over and over again. I got so much out of this. I wanted to share it with you regardless of if you’re single, married, divorced, in a relationship, etc. Whatever your status, I hope you can take something away from it too.

One of my favorite blogs is Modern Mrs. Darcy. If you are a reader, you definitely want to follow this spectacular blog. If you have no idea what to read next, she’s got you covered. By the way, what are you reading right now? My sister has been loving Brene Brown’s “Rising Strong” and a client just recommended “The Girl with all the Gifts” by M.R. Carey. I’d love to hear what you’ve been loving!

I’ve loved everything Alexis has been writing lately. In particular, My best breakup yet and Old me versus new me. A client asked me this week what diet I recommend and I said, “Intuitive eating.” That’s it. We need nothing else.

I’ve been in a bit of a food rut recently and I don’t usually go out to eat since I’m on a budget but last weekend my sister and I went to Canteen, just off the Square, and really liked it! Their tacos were full of flavor, unique, and reasonably priced! We decided that we would definitely come back. If you are in the Madison-area, have you been? What did you think? Also, what have you been cooking lately? I’d love some inspiration!

I just finished watching the Netflix original movie “The Incredible Jessica James” and really liked it! Then I stumbled upon this; “The 5 best movies to buy or stream this week” and now I’m inspired to see all of these. What have you been watching lately?

That’s it for me this week! Have a great weekend!
