Good morning! I wasn’t able to write last week and I feel like an update post and sharing some of my favorite links from the week is a great start!

It’s Friday and we have made our way into another month! I glanced at our November calendar hanging on our kitchen wall and it looks be a full month, but not in a hectic and loathsome way. There are Saturdays marked with mornings at work, a Friendsgiving, two Thanksgivings with family, the 5k Berbee Derby on Thanksgiving morning, Tom’s drill dates for the Army, a date night penciled in, my mom’s birthday, and work meetings scattered around. I get to work this Saturday morning and then head over to a friend’s house for a home-cooked meal and some much-needed girlfriend time. It’s been a super fast week over here and a really great one too. Tom and I got back from our short trip to Colorado on Sunday afternoon and had plenty of time to hit the grocery store, do some laundry, and cook dinner before the week began. 

We had an awesome trip to Colorado. Friday was spent at Rocky Mountain National Park. We parked our car at the Bear Lake entrance and hiked to Emerald Lake. It was cold but a really picturesque hike and not strenuous in any way. The park is huge and I would definitely go back again to explore more of the trails. Saturday we decided to drop in at CrossFit Roots and get in a quick workout. We got an awesome breakfast afterwards at The Kitchen (their chocolate croissants are a must!). Then we decided to enjoy the sun and sixty degree weather in Boulder and do a hike up to Mt. Sanitas which was fantastic! On Saturday evening we met up with my aunt and uncle for dinner at Spruce Farm and Fish and then walked Pearl Street and picked up some gelato. And before we knew it, we were packing our bags again for the flight home on Sunday.

This week I got to have some quality sister time on Wednesday night which was so overdue and lovely! And I also had a bit of down time on Thursday to finally do some cleaning, reading, and writing.

This podcast by Ben Bergeron–This was eye-opening for me and I immediately decided I needed to change my morning routine. No more email first thing in the morning and carving out time each day to read is an absolute must. Already I feel more productive, calm, and less frazzled. Definitely give this a listen!

Loving this delicious breakfast cereal in the mornings. I have embarked on my first Whole30 and I have been perusing recipes all week. I came across this one and fell in love. I add in a scoop of almond butter and raisins for some sweetness.

And for those of you not currently doing a Whole30…how about this crockpot chicken gnocchi soup? I can’t wait to try this!
