My word for the year

Abundance

Earlier this month I was thinking about what I wanted my theme to be for this year. I was thinking about the kind of person I wanted to be at the end of 2018 and how I wanted to feel. I wanted to feel lighthearted, with no financial stress, inspired, excited, grateful, and hopeful. I wanted my days to be filled with abundance. And so that became my word for the year. I cut out letters to create the word and I pinned it to the bulletin board right above our desk. I get to see it every day and it acts as a reminder for me to bring abundance into my life.

Earlier this week, one of my favorite bloggers wrote a post on “abundance” and what it looks like for her each day. Since we are what we repeatedly do, I wanted to share some things that feel like abundance for me during my week.

reading a book while eating breakfast instead of mindlessly scrolling through Instagram. I realized that Instagram rarely adds anything noteworthy to my days. But reading a good book always brings me joy.

listening to my favorite podcast on the way to work

making a playlist to listen to while I train sessions. Music has always been a quick way to lift my spirits and spending a bit of time creating a playlist has a big payoff for me during those long days.

making these pancakes and topping them with almond butter, maple syrup, and sliced bananas. This has been the best pancake recipe I have ever made. I can’t say enough good things about them! Just make them. I promise you won’t regret it.

baking the best brownies from my “Against All Grain” cookbook to enjoy throughout the week. Because after eight consecutive training sessions, a delicious brownie and some almond milk will always be my favorite way to end a day. A glass of wine has nothing on these.

taking walks in the morning

going to 6:30 am yoga class

reading anything by Anne…especially this blog post. Beautifully written.

How do you bring abundance into your days? I would love to hear 🙂 Leave me a comment below! Have a wonderful weekend!
